Hello! Hello! Hello!
Today is Tuesday so you know what that means! It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is a bookish weekly meme that is currently run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s (May 12th, 2020) topic: The Last Ten Books I Abandoned. Allons-y!
I did a post similar to this in January after cleaning up my TBR. I recently got brand new Billy Bookcases and while putting all my boos on them I had a chance to clear out my TBR again. So here is what I recently took off for loss of interest.
Novice by Taran Matharu
Allegiance by Veronica Roth
The Glass Spare by Lauren DeStefano
Everless by Sara Holland
Anna and the Apocalypse by Katharine Turner, Barry Waldo
The Iron Flower by Laurie Forest
Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes
Fire and Heist by Sarah Beth Durst
In A the Dark, Dark Woods by Ruth Ware
Let’s chat!
Did you read any of these and think there are some I should keep on my TBR? What are books you recently abandoned? Leave me a comment.
Great list! Fire & Heist looks so fun, but it doesn’t seem to have the best Goodreads ratings – maybe I’ll give it a go if my library as it…

I got it in a book box and those are always tricky I find. I might get it again later on but in ebook format.

The only one of these I’ve read is Fire & Heist (and I didn’t care for it), but Ruth Ware is an author I’d like to try😁

it doesn’t seem lie something I would like. Maybe eventually I’ll circle back to it who knows.

I haven’t read anything by Ruth Ware but I have In A Dark, Dark Wood on my TBR! Sorry to hear that it wasn’t a win for you 😦 Been thinking about picking up Holland’s book but … Maybe I’ll give it a pass 😅

I got halfway through it and it just wasn’t working for me. I want to try Ware’s other books ’cause I know a lot of people that love them. I’m not too sure how I feel about Everless it’s not one that was really on my radar before it came out and I’ve just not gotten excited about it.

Fair enough though. Sometimes a book just isn’t for you! And it’s good to let them go (I struggle so hard with that) 🤣

still learning to do this.

Loved Everless, but still not read the second book, but couldn’t get more than halfway through The Novice.

I might circle back to Everless eventually who knows. The Novice just seems like something I would’ve liked years ago but there are so many new YA books now.

I’ve always been curious about In a Dark, Dark Wood, but didn’t love her other book The Woman in Cabin 10, so I’m not sure if she’s my kind of writer.

I want to try another boo of hers since I now a lot of people that love her but I’m not too sure where to start or if she will be for me either.

I’m going to take Allegiant off my shelves too. I already know how the series ends because I got spoiled and I’m just not into dystopian books anymore.

It’s pretty hard not to get spoiled when everyone is angry about that ending haha. I feel like we are due for a very good dystopian but completely get that trend might have passed.

I never read Allegiant – the ending was spoiled for me and I decided I just did not want to anymore. I was so mad about it!
I’ve read a few Lauren DeStefano books and did not enjoy so I can’t see myself ever picking up the one you have here.

Sometimes an author just isn’t for us. I have a couple ones that I will never pick up another book from.

The only one I’ve read is Allegiant. You’re not missing much. I’m still angry at that book. 😉

The premise of Everless sounded so cool, but I didn’t end up liking it enough to continue the series.

That is my worry as well. Sometimes they hype books so much it’s even more disappointing when you don’t like them

I haven’t read any of these, but going on covers alone, Fire and Heist looks brilliant!

Sorry you had to leave these behind, but at least now you have time for others!

Good call with Allegiant hah. And also The Glass Spare, I slogged through that one but I do mean slogged! Everless was okay but I don’t think you HAVE to read it or anything. And yay for new bookshelves!!
